CHURCH SURVEY AND TRANSITION INFORMATION—RETURN YOUR SURVEYS, PLEASE!

As we enter into this time of transition, the Bridge Team prayerfully invites you to attend one of our four small group discussions, immediately following service on each Sunday in July.  Please meet with us in the parlor from 11:00-11:30 to discuss your concerns and hopes for the future of St. John’s Church as we seek a new pastor.  Surveys were mailed out and we ask for those to be sent back by TODAY, July 20th.  We have extra surveys available if you know of someone who would like to participate.  Once we have collected and reviewed the data, we will begin working on our church profile and we will have another update for the congregation.

WOMEN’S GUILD PRAYER CHAIN

The Women’s Guild has an active prayer chain and we would be glad to pray for your concerns.  Just inform the church office (219) 872-9121 or a Guild member of your request.

MCCU (MICHIGAN CITY CHURCHES UNITED) SUMMER PICNIC

at Creek Ridge County Park, 7943 W. 400 North, Michigan City, Sunday, August 24th, 1:00 p.m.

THE GUILD SUMMER COMMUNITY PROJECT – THE BLESSING BAG PROJECT

It’s time again for our Blessing Bag Project!  This project is directed toward the unhoused neighbors in our city where the essentials we all depend on may be a luxury to them.  What is a blessing bag?  It is a gallon-size plastic bag filled with these items:  pair of socks, washcloth, bar of soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, wipes, and lotion.  We are asking our St. John’s friends to join us in this project by donating an item or if you want us to shop for you, a financial donation is appreciated.  A collection box for donated items will be in the entryway of our church.  Thank you for considering to help.

“NEW EDITION” FELLOWSHIP GROUP

We are pleased to announce that the Kaufmans and Keeleys have formed a fellowship group here at St. John’s for young adults or those “young at heart.”  We are called “New Edition” and our goal is to have like-minded people gather socially and get to know and support one another, with an overall mission to be of service to St. John’s in any way needed.  Our first get-together is being planned and if you would like to be a part of this “breath of fresh air,” please contact Jennifer Keeley at (219) 363-5469 or email musicjenkeeley@yahoo.com for details!  We invite those who are willing to say “Yes!” when St. John’s Church needs you!

ANY 1997 DIRECTORIES?

Our historian, Jean Squires, is in need of 1997 St. John’s Directories (with names and photos).  If you have a copy that you would like to donate, please bring it to the office and we will get them to Jean. Thank you very much!

“JAM” (JESUS AND ME) YOUTH
