LADIES AND FRIENDS – MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

The Women’s Guild will meet Wednesday, September 17th, at 1:00 p.m. in the Youth Lounge for our program. We will be assembling the “Blessing Bags” for our area homeless neighbors. All are welcome to attend and help us with this project. (Please enter by the back kitchen door.)

“JOYFUL SOUNDS” CHOIR INVITATION

Jennifer is looking for singers and instrumentalists to help lead worship starting in September. We will rehearse during the month of August.  If you want to “make a joyful noise” with us, please email Jennifer for details!

PRESCHOOL NEWS & NEEDS

St. John’s Preschool will be opening in September for the 2025 – 2026 school year. We will need the following supplies, and would greatly appreciate any donations!

  • napkins
  • 5-oz cups
  • hand wipes
  • table wipes
  • tissues
  • paper towels
  • copy paper
  • liquid hand soap
  • colored copy paper

Thank you very much for your continued support of our Preschool!

CAN YOU HELP?

The Women’s Guild has received a letter from our local Salvation Army stating an urgent need and asking if we could contribute any financial assistance before October. They are seeing a 60% increase in the number of citizens they are serving compared to a few years ago. The Guild will be sending our contribution and wanted the congregation to be aware of this need also. (Their letter is posted on the bulletin board.)

“JAM” (JESUS AND ME) YOUTH

Any child (ages 4-10) in La Porte County is welcome to attend our JAM (“Jesus and Me”) Sunday School program. Attendance is flexible and parents do not have to be members of the church. Meet in the school hallway from 8:20 – 9:30 a.m. on any Sunday of the year. Children enjoy Bible lessons, songs, crafts, activities, and snacks. Contact Jennifer Keeley with questions at musicjenkeeley@yahoo.com.

MEALS ON WHEELS

The St. John’s Meals on Wheels team is in need of several reliable people to volunteer to deliver meals to those who are unable to provide for themselves. The need is for both drivers and runners (people who take the meals to the door). The schedule is every two months from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. If you are able to help in this rewarding and worthwhile activity, please contact Dale at (219) 872-5904 or at church on Sundays after the service.
