LET’S REMEMBER TO PRAY FOR BRUCE AS HE LEAVES FOR THE MISSION TRIP TODAY
Please pray for our interim Pastor, Minister Bruce Carr, as he travels to the Amazon region for two weeks to spread the Gospel of Jesus to our southern neighbors. Please pray for his safety and God’s guiding hand upon him as he seeks to follow the Lord’s lead in spreading the Word of God. He will return to us for the June 21st service. Thank you, Pastor Jim King, for your service to us on June 7th and 14th!
BLESSING BAG UPDATE
Thank you to those who have donated money or items for the Guild Blessing Bags. While we can still use all the items originally listed like deodorant, toothpaste, and washcloths… we could really use men’s or women’s socks, lip balm, bars of soap, and toothbrushes. Thank you again for supporting this community charity with us!
JUNE GUILD MEETING
The Women’s Guild will meet on Wednesday, June 17th at 1:00 pm in the Youth Lounge. Our program this month is “Learning to Crochet.” For many, this will be a delayed refresher course as we did it many years ago and need to update our skill! The purpose of this is to make children’s scarves for our next project of providing winter items for local children. Yarn will be provided, but if you have any crochet hooks, bring them. If not, we will have some for you. Any questions can be directed to Karen or Meredith. We hope you put this on your calendar!

ST. JOHN’S PORTAL PANEL CARVING
The left door panel depicts the official emblem of the United Church of Christ in a variation of the original form. Placing the crown slightly above and to the left of the main body of the symbol gives greater emphasis to the cross. Clearly apparent is the cross, known from ancient times as the Cross of Victory or the Cross Triumphant, which is attached to the orb, representing the world. The whole of the symbol signifies “the kingship of the risen Christ over all the world.” The division of the orb into three parts symbolizes the command of our Lord to His disciples: “You shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

All members and friends are invited to join in our two Bible Study groups. Our Wednesday morning group meets at 9:30 am and our Christianity 101 class meets Sundays at 8:30 am. If you have questions, please talk to some of our members—Tim Murphey, Ernie Dingler, Dolores Van Ulzen, or Karen Lawrenz. We have chairs and booklets waiting for you!
